Im looking for a good fixed blade for a police tac team. It should at least be particularly serrated. Because we need to be able to cut ropes fast i rapelling and hostage rescue situations. It should also be able to fastend it to a tactical vest.

Anyone got any good sugestions ?

Maybe somone have some experience with a knife on their tac team?

Maybe a folder is the answer ??

For a Police Tac team type of blade, check out Strider knives. Strider Knives link

They have a forum here as well, so ask them as many questions as you want! A Canadian maker, Wally Hayes, makes a blade called the Tac 1 designed for Police and Spec Ops work. Michael Janich did a review of the blade and like sit. Check out Wally Hayes' Web Page to see the Tac 1 and his other stuff.

Let me recommend the Becker designed Tactool by Camillus.

That is what I use. Really tough, and really sharp. The sheath also really lends itself to entry team carry.

Do a search for "tactool". There is an abundance of info about this awesome beast! It is also very economical.

Take a look at this one. Its a Razorback from MOD.

It was designed by Massad Ayoob. I think it will fit the bill nicely.

May I suggest a Cold Steel Vaquero Grande. This is a large and lightweight folder that can be clipped anywhere. Strong and capable with a 6" recurved and FULLY serrated blade. You'll have no problem cutting almost anything and they wont break the bank.

I think regarding your intended purposes a folder is also suitable, so I recommend the Microtech SOCOM model.

Blade length: 4.05”
Length closed: 5.1”
Blade thickness: 148”
Steel: 154 CM
Blade hardness: 60 HRC
Handle material: 6061-T6 Aluminum
Blade surface: Titanium Carbonitride

Since it's for police, IMHO the Tactool is your best choice for a variety of reasons. One of them is lawsuits - with it you remove the "He threatened me with this combat knife!" aspect.

Second, the tactool is perfectly shaped for prying and chopping. It has a partially serrated edge for light sawing, is subdued, and best of all - doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

I'll vouch for that one. I carry a CQD on my tac-vest.

I carry it folded (autos open so nicly :D) but you can get a kydex sheath for it to carry it in the locked open position. The pommel has the option of a glassbreaker or a webbing cutter built in ;) There is also a smaller version of the same knife available (CQDMKII)

And of course -- they are available for rock bottom prices at the website below :D

Our team currently carries several different makes and styles of knives. We are in the process of having David Dempsey modify one of his blades for our team to possibly be adopted as a team knife. I have also purchased a custom figher from David and find it to be an excellent blade. Generally, our team members carry a fixed blade and a multi-tool. BTW, David studied knifemaking under Wally Hayes.

He also gives a discount to law enforcement and military purchases.:D

You know if Spark and I agree on a knife it has to be the right choice. :D
