Fixed Blade Handle Bolts???

I'm making some custom knives, and I'm having trouble finding the best way to secure the G10 handle scales to the tang of the knife. I'm using Chicago screws right now, but it's hard to sink them into the material. Any recommendations? I'd like to keep the scales removable, so epoxy is out of the question.

If your blade steel is thick enough (1/4") you can drill and tap the tang, and thread screws directly into it.
Or use chain ring bolts.
