A friend of mine's father passed away recently. He was a talented craftsman, wood carver, and knife maker in his mid eighties named Chuck Fross. This is a knife that he made around 30 years ago in his small shop in his garage. After his passing, my friend, Chuck Jr. brought this piece to me and asked me to clean it up and sharpen the blade. I don't know what kind of steel it is, but boy did it take an edge!! Chuck Jr. has told me that his father made knives out of whatever he could get his hands on. He made the wood handle completely by hand as well. Notice that his sheath is stamped with frosty the snowman in reference to the last name Fross. Just thought I'd share it with everybody before giving it back to my friend. His dad did pretty good for an old guy with no formal training.
