Greetings, I'm new here and look forward to many interesting blade-related discussions.

I recently purchased a Japanese Higonokami style knife (I'm not sure if it's the real thing) and I love the blade shape, sharpness and laminated steel blade.

I'm a little nervous about the lack of a blade lock, however, and I'm wondering if anyone makes a similar blade in a fixed-blade configuration.

Thanks!

If it is strictly Japanese style, kogatana or kiridashi come in mind.

A. G.Russell sells a locking higonokami-style knife with carbon fiber scales and a damascus blade with core of AUS-8.

It's a liner lock, and after handling one last weekend, it's a sturdy beautiful knife. A bit pricey, though...
