Is anyone familiar with this knife or knife series? Marked "Lamplough Solingen" on one side of the tang and "S05 1/2 Stainless" on the other side. I understand that Lamplough is a Montreal, Canada based cutlery importer that marketed knives made by various Solingen firms. There may have been a series of models with the blades bearing the name of various Canadian native tribes, hence the "Ojibwa" etched on the blade. I have a memory of seeing a similar but smaller knife (more like a nicker) with "Cree" on the blade.
It is a very well made knife, easily as good as or better than a Puma. It is also roughly the size of a Puma "White Hunter" but a bit bigger with a thicker handle and a different blade shape, more of spear point, with a factory sharpened swedge. 6 inch blade, 10.5 in. overall. Blade is close to being 1/4 in. thick. Overall very sturdy with good quality stag. The last photo shows it in a size comparison with two other Solingen knives, a Puma "Hunters Companion" and a Wingen Othello "Hunter".
