Fixed Blade on Survivorman?

Not that this answers your question, but from the FAQ at lesstroudonline.com:

"Q: If you could take only one fixed-blade knife into the bush with you, which would it be? (I have grown to love my 'Cold Steel SRK', and literally trust it with my life). Thanks, Les.
Les: I do still love my Buck knife - but I grind down the tip to make it less pointy. But I have been given a lot of knives over the while and enjoy them all."

Indeed. I'll pitch in $10.00 if someone can make the connection. I'd love to see Les using one of JK's blades. Oh, indeed--it would give me a reason to watch the show.

Never got a real clear look, but I kinda thought it looked like a Benchmade CSK.

I don't know but I have to bring pringles and guitar from now on.

I think I've seen him using what looks like a Buck 119. I may be way off on my mark, but it looked like it had the same profile.

Yeah, he's used a Buck 119 in the past, but Season 3 just started Friday and he's not using it. It looks like a small Ka-Bar but they really didn't give a good shot at it. It was almost like they were afraid to show him using a fixed blade.

I didn't get a really good look at the blade, but I know it had a leather washer handle, a round pommel and what reminded me of an old USMC leather sheath. Could've been a Ka-Bar, might've been an old PAL.

I DVR'd the episode and froze the screen a couple of times.
After looking several times I have decided it almost has to be the Ka-Bar 1256.

The guard was angled back towards the hand & it appeared to have a rounded pommel also. This Ka-Bar hits the spot. The full sized version would not fit the 7" blade is just too big for the screen freezes I looked at. The 5.25" blade fits the show best.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention - it for sure has a blood groove - so that eliminates both the SRK & CSK. I am only talking about the Sierra Nevada episode by the way.

Most of the time he has a blunt-tipped Buck 119

Oh yeah I forgot to mention the sheath just like ChrisY said was a spot-on Ka-Bar.

DRMUDD - I also noticed what looked like a leather-washer handle - but after a zoom - the handle was black as black can be. So either it WAS a leather-washer handle with some staining or if you take a look at the Ka-Bar 1256 - even though it is NOT really a leather-washer handle - it is shaped just like one including the grooves.

I think with the sheath observations added - Ka-Bar all the way.
