fixed blade or edc

kershaw skyline for sure, light weight, slim and has a leather sheath..... they do have a kydex one to but not sure where to get it. the leather one that comes with it works super well

Look at the Becker BK11 or Bk14. Both coated 1095 steel, or the BK24, which is the same as the 14 but in D2 steel.

If you're sure a folder won't do the job, get an Esee Izula 2 or something similar. All depends on what you're using it for though. For most people, a folder is better.

They can be hard to find and they cost a few bucks, but Bob Dozier's fixed blades are worth the wait and the money. His horizontal cross-draw kydex sheath is secure, discreet and bullet-proof:

How do you plan to carry it and what would you typically use it for?
This^

I don't see how anyone can recommend a knife to the OP without knowing at least some of the following-

A. What type of tasks he wants to use it for.

B. What his local laws are (blade length limits, carry limitations).

C. What type of activities he's going to be doing while wearing it (lots of squatting, working in cramped spaces, the risk of scratching things or snagging on things).

D. How much he's looking to spend.

And of course if a person is going to carry a fixed-blade (or any knife) at work, they should be certain of their workplace regulations.
