I am looking for a FB for EDC but need some help choosing one. I am looking for a fixed blade with a 3.5" to 4" blade length. Also I like thicker blades, something close to 3/16 or thicker. Satin or Stone washed only. Also would like a Tech lock. I like the New Boker that is coming out, but it's a little expensive at around $200. I do like the BM 211 also. I am diggin the smaller tactical looking FB's like the Boker, BM, and love the style of M.O.'s, Brock's, and Coye's. Looking to spend around $100. Oh and No I do not want a Izula

Have a look at the new Böker Plus Krein Pocket Bowie

The Pocket Bowie is a very popular Krein knife. The short, stout blade features a hollow grind and deals with every cutting task with this versatile blade shape. The handle features contoured G-10 scales with white fiber layers and fits the hand perfectly. The index finger hoil nhances the secure grip. Blade steel is high performance 440C stainless. Comes with a Tek-Lok compatible Kydex sheath with ball chain (Tek-Lok not included). Blade length: 2 1/2''. Overall length: 5 3/4''. Weight: 2.2 oz. THIS ITEM WILL BE AVAILABLE MAY 2010

Priced at $40 or so. Good deal.

Or the Krein Grashopper:

Both of those Bokers look amazing. They're also made in my motherland, Germany. Nice.

3.5 - 4 inches and your price range only brings up one knife OTOH. The Bravo Necker 2. But it's only .125 inches thick. http://www.the-knife-connection.com/br-bravonecker2-blk.html

Other knives, but over 100:
Entrek Cobra or Companion (Cobra is a clip point; Companion is drop point) are 131 on bladehq. 4 inch blade of 440c 3/16 thick. 126.63 shipped after bing cashback on ebay (Cobra). http://www.bladehq.com/item--EnTrek-USA-Cobra-Fixed--4427

The other suggestion would be a Spyderco Street Beat, but the cheapest I found that was 146.27 after bing cashback on ebay.

Entrek Badger has a 3 3/8 blade but it's right at your budget. 97 bucks. http://www.bladehq.com/item--EnTrek-USA-Badger-Fixed--4426

For around $100 you would be better off scoping out the Exchange and waiting for a good deal. For a new knife I think your choices would be somewhat limited. If you want decent quality that is.

Not really feeling any of those. I like Wharncliffe blades and overall bigger ones (from edge to spine). And I would like handles

Falkniven F1? Laminated VG10, no sheath with tech lock though. You would have to go after market for one.

Not very "tactical" , but one great knife.

+1 on the F1 but if you mant one with a smaller blade the Fallknive WM1 is also a good choice. Available from any dealers for less than $100.

+2 on the Fallkniven F1. A great knife.
3-3/4" blade of laminated VG-10, just about 3/16" thick.

And if you look around you can find it for just about $100.00.

Spyderco Street Beat is a little expensive and a little too thin based on your criteria but it may be worth a look. I believe the current version comes with a G-Clip but I think the sheath is compatible for a Tek-Lok.

If you're looking for a thick little tac knife, look at TOPS. Not sure you'll find one in your price range. They're a bit pricey but they fit the bill.

Frank

P.S. Maybe look in the makers section for deals. There are some talented guys here who sometimes offer great deals.

Priced at $40 or so. Good deal.

Which makes a street price of even +/- $25 :D

Rhino +/- $35

A knife that you will just need to own. The Rhino has already been a very successful handmade custom piece from Jesper Voxnaes. This Boker Plus version, with the same elite blade lines, creates a curved cutting edge and offers a huge amount of utility for a variety of tasks. From outdoors to carving, from preparing game to a modern EDC - the Rhino does it all! Blade steel is 12C27. Micarta handles. Includes black lanyard and leather sheath. Blade length: 3". Overall length: 6 1/8". Weight: 3.8 oz.

Mosier +/- $55

David Mosier, Missouri custom knifemaker, is well known for his tactical fixed blades. This piece, with its modified Wharncliffe style blade made of Sandvik 12C27 steel, shows a soft upward curved cutting edge, which improves EDC versatility without losing its character. The milled two-tone Micarta handle offers excellent ergonomics, along with a stunning appearance. Sheath included. Blade length: 3 1/4". Overall length: 7 1/4". Weight: 5.5 oz.
