Fixed blade similar to Umnumzaan @ Blade?

Well, I'm not sure if I should tell that but I was not asked not to tell so... when talking to Heather from CRK couple of days ago she admited (maybe by accident?) that Chris was working on a fixed blade based on Umnumzaan shape. Kind of "personal tactical fixed EDC"! I don't know much, but at least I know:
- blade should be similar to Umnumzaan
- scales will be TITANIUM (!) with some kind of texture
- I thought it'd be full-tang but the more I think of it... well, I can also imagine construction a'la MOD Razorback?
- kydex sheath (Blade Tech again?)

Now that's going to be HOT! I'll buy it for sure! The only issue I see might be price... but for such a knife I could pay close to the price of Sebenza.

And Blade Show is in June, so it makes sense that they would like to get it ready before Atlanta. At least prototypes, as it was with original Umnumzaan.

I'll be at Blade this year and if those are ready for Blade I will be interested in getting a hold of one.:thumbup:

It'll be hot! I can tell you!

BTW, I even know the name. Of course it's something in Zulu again: Ukuqala Umbaso (personal sentry?)

Sign me up!

I've been on the hunt for a good fixed blade, and have ALWAYS wanted Titanium scales!!
The TI scales and umnumzaan blade profile would be perfect!

I can't wait...

Fixed Umnumzaan?
Hmmm
I really thought they would release a small Umnumzaan or a large Mnandi on April 1.

I was looking for the re-release of the regular profile today. I guess ill have to settle for a fixed blade umnum announcement instead.

Great post Piter.

I am glad to see them expanding the fixed blade line since the end of the OPR.

Will be an interesting knife to see for sure. CRK already has several fixed blades that are close, so not sure what void this may fill. The professional soldier is a heck of a knife, but is more of a necker. The Nyala has been mentioned many times as a fixed blade sebenza. Though considering last year CRK came out with the Ti-Lock, we were due for a fixed blade of some sort.

Just found cool link, so you can translate the Zulu names of CRK knives:

Just check this: Ukuqala Umbaso !!!

chili77 was good :)

Google Chrome not welcome

isiZulu.net disregards Google. Please choose a different vendor.

It's not a technical issue. It's a personal statement against a growing number of "services" designed to trample on privacy and monopolize the web.

 It was a good Idea.

By the way.
fixed Umnumzaan, small Umnumzaan, large Mnandi... I would buy all of these if they existed.

PiterM, You do know if this is just some kind of sick April Fools Joke you will be permanently banned.

Just a friendly heads up. :)

Nevertheless, it wouldn't be a bad idea and it might be a good seller. The Nyala is basically a fixed large Sebenza Regular blade. Why not have a similar fixed blade version of the Umnu? As I said, I bet it would sell pretty briskly.

Great April Fools Day joke:) You got me also!

It seems every year i get fooled at something, even though i'm aware it's April 1st.
