Fixed blade traditionals gaining ground in my collection...

When I started my modest knife collecting hobby a couple years ago, I had a few fixed blades, and a few folders. The common thread was that they were traditional knives.
That said, the folders grew in numbers, with a fixed blade being added here and there. But lately, my draw to fixed blade knives has come to the forefront. In fact, I believe my last 8 knife purchases have been fixed bladed knives. I still am very drawn to trad pocket knives, and they still outnumber my fixed blades, but for now... the obsession seems to be with fixed blades, lol! ;) I believe I have about 100 knives total, and about a fourth are fixed blades. Anyhow, they all live together in my collection, and I think the diversity makes me happy, so all is good! :)
I actually just placed an order in last night for an Ontario Air Force Survival Knife. It's one of those knives I was always drawn to, but have simply never owned. With Camillus having gone under some years ago, I figured it's best to get this icon before it too goes DoDo bird. It seems Ontario Knife is on solid ground... but hey, ya never know!

I think you can´t gro wrong with an Ontario AF Survival knife. I think they make great outdoors knives - just like the well known KA-BAR Fighting Knife.

However - on traditional fixed blades you should also try the bavarian Jagdnicker.... I love this kind of knife!

Yeah, Andi, I certainly agree with you that Ontario is still putting out some desirable products (imo).

As for your recommendation on the Bavarian Jagnicker, this is about as close to that as I have (shown alongside my k55). This little bugger is a Linder brand knife that is obviously a miniature, which I have a fondness for as well. As a collector of doo-dads, I find miniatures facinating! :) I'm going in all sorts of directions with this hobby, lol! ;)

Btw... the handle on this little knife is the nicest piece of stag that I currently own... the thing is like a piece of artwork! :)
