Fixed blade unobtrusive sheath

So I'm trying to fix it so that a mid-size/small fixed blade isn't so obvious when I carry it. That could be a short Ka-bar, Mark I or Nighthawk, along those lines.
I'm tired of the stares and deer-in-the-headlights looks. (OMG, that guy's carrying a KNIFE!! Call the cops!)

The other day I'm carrying my BK-11 in its Kydex when I went to the doctor's office and he of all people asked WHY (with dinner plate sized eyes) do you carry a knife? He couldn't figure that yeah, what if I come on an accident and I have to cut a seat belt? But I digress.

Thing is, the sheaths stand out like a sore thumb because they are so big compared to the blade, especially Kydex with all the rivets and crap... sheesh.

I want to keep it slim, not much bigger than the cardboard protector that ships with the blade, or the plastic insert like the Gerber Prodigy sheath has. Very, very simple and oh, yeah, a belt clip! I'm tired of having to go through gyrations just to get the damned sheath on.

Recommendations/ideas? I'd like something, easily and no-hassle available, that doesn't look like a sheath. More like the Ripoffs pouch I carry flashlights in, where no one can see what's in it.

Thanks,

Rich

Sounds like you need a "basic" Kydex insert glued to the inside of a sideways belt-mounting Boker Cordura pouch......or something along those lines.

Fwiw: I make a Kydex sheath for a BK-11 that fit's into the LE ankle sheath that Ka-Bar sells for the TDI knives.

If you wanna go "deep" concealment. And I've also made alot of "simple" sheaths for guy's who just want Kydex covering the blade in their pockets.

Something like this:

It's shorter and thinner than what you typically see and the actual point where the center of balance isn't in-line with the tip of the BK-11. It's actually exactly where you see that eyelet in the picture for neck carry..... also, this will mount directly to a sm. Tek-Lok so you can even carry it "ranger" style under a shirt/jacket etc.

I could make flat version of my standard folder pouch. It would be more less square, with flap going over the knife, so from outside you would see only leather pouch. Like long, flat wallet on the belt :). Don't have clips but sometimes I make this kind of snapped belt loops. That design should work with flat knife, like BK11, without scales or with thin ones.

Drop me an email for details.

Thanks, but this has to be on the cheap-even if I make one myself. Just looking for a starting point-ideally I'd like to do something up with household materials. Custom=$$$$.

I do mods on flashlights that no one in their right mind would do, so I can probably handle this.

Please let us know what you come up with. I'm always looking for something like this.
