Wasn't there some talk about Tim Wegner having a fixed blade of his fabulous design produced? I would like some more info, especially price and who is making them.

I briefly handled one at the Bladetech table at the Blade Show. It was a prototype I believe. It pretty much looked like a Spyderco Wegner turned into a fixed blade (without the hole of course). It felt comfortable in my hand and had the same general blade shape as the folder. I don't remember many details beyond that. Maybe Tim Wegner will come on here and give us the scoop (and remind people that his name is not Wenger

Them:"What's that clipped to your pocket, a beeper?"
Me:"Uuh....yeah, something like that."

Contact Tim. He's doing two runs, one in a super steel (I forget which), and the other in Rob Simonich Talonite. Delivery was tentatively Q1 2000.

I want one.

This time, like all times, is a very good one, if we but know what to do with it.

I'll take one as well. Now to decide between Talonite and the mystery "super steel"....

Hey Guys
Here is the skinny on the Wegner fixed blade.
I should have a limited run of Talonite knives with black micarta slabs from Rob Simonich by the end of Jan/2000. The price is not set in stone as of yet, but my guess is $350.-$375. with a custom multi-functional sheath. I should also have a few in 440V from Phil Boguszewski by mid to late Feb. Pricing on these will be about $250.-$275. with sheath. I will gage the response with these first knives and see if it warrants going to a production version for future batches.

Thanks!
Tim Wegner
