So I'll just come out with it, what is a good fixed blade knife that's around 3 to 4 inches blade length that comes with a good sheath and maybe a flint or a place to put one. And the possibility of being able to paracord wrap it would be very nice ! Price range is about 100$

I was looking at the Ontario ranger shiv but the sheath is horrible ! Maybe someone know of I good sheath for it, kydex or something if so it maybe a good choice, looks nice :)

Thank you, hope you could help

I would look at the ESEE 4. The Kydex sheath is quality and so it the blade. Length of cutting edge is right at 4 inches, but there is not spot for a firesteel on the sheath.

I like the esee 3 and 4
Which one would best for me ? I want it for outdoors use, like sharpening stick and maybe batoning (I'm not expecting to baton logs, maybe 2" or 3" wood). It would be for kind of all purpose use. I don't know if the esee 4 is too big for carrying around a campground or outside the house, and over all use ? But on the other end is the esee 3 too small for most all-purpose tasks ?

I was faced with a similar decision a couple of years ago after reading all the hype about ESEE knives. I chose the ESEE 4. It is an okay knife for this purpose. I prefer the Kabar Becker BK-16 for a general use blade and you can baton with it. I think you'd be very happy with the BK-16. The ESEE 3 is smaller and has a thinner blade stock relative to the ESEE 4. That might appeal to you.

You might look at the Izula and the Kabar BK-14 as possibles due to possible size constraints.

For what you describe the 3 isn't too small. I use an Izula 2 for the same tasks.
