looking for suggestions on a production fixed blade under 100 dollars with a pommel plate, preferably in the 3.5 to 4 inch range but up to 7 is certainly welcome. I have the ontario air force survival knife already. thanks!

Many great options, but I recommend the kabar 1217. Also look at the kabar becker line the bk10, bk16 and bk17 are some of the best production knives for the money

The ka-bar navy mk 1 is sweet

It is ideal for what it is.
Try the secondary market for
The discontinued Ontario knives spec plus navy mark 1

That's a great affordable choice too.
Good luck in your search!

Appreciate the responses so far. Anyone know of anything beyond popular kabar and Ontario lines? Thanks.

The Blackjack line of knives all have pomel caps. Not sure how good they are for hammering or anything like that (I've never hammered with a knife anyway), but they seem to be your style. They are a bit more pricey though (more in the $100-$200 range).

If you're looking for something with a pommel cap that is "better", there's not much to choose from.

If you're looking for a <$100, 4"~7", with a pommel but no cap, that is "better", here ya go ...

Left-Right - Becker BK2 5.25", BK10 5.5", BK7 7"

Blade is 6.1". It was military issue during WW2, only available on the secondary market. Check the bay. Best pommel-plate I've ever handled.

Thanks. Yeah im specifically looking for knives with a usable and durable 'hammer' pommel
