Hi, I'm new here. I'm looking for a fixed blade knife and need some help. I want a knife with about a 4" blade, a sheath that will clip on a belt or pants pocket, plain edge blade, and won't cost no more than $75.00. I'm really interested in the Rat RC-4, but I'm open for suggestions.

Thanks,
Dave

I don't know a lot of knives with clip-on sheaths. How important is that feature to you?

Clip-on sheath is not real important, would like to be able to carry on my side.
I'm just getting into knives so you'll have to forgive my lack of knowledge on this matter.

This might suit your needs: http://yourcornerstore.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=785_1940_1954&products_id=22956 It is like a RAT knife only with a bowie style. The wait is about a month, but I am sure there are other dealers who have it in stock.

Ontario has some really nice knives for the money. Look at their SPEC-PLUS knives for added value. Here is a link to their catalog (they have a lot more knives out than this too, I dont know why they dont update their catalog):

I found the Rat 4 for $87.00 and the Izula with the kit for $55.00. Now time to decide between these two.

the RAT4 and RC4 are two different knifes-make sure you get the RC4, otherwise you are stuck with Ontario's crappy qc.
