Fixed Blades with Checkered Handles

Buck has made a few fixed blade models with checkered wooden handles over the years and I am looking to add one to my collection. The oldest models I have found are the 192 and 119 that were part of the Master Series collection in 1998 that had green checkered handles. Buck made the 802, 803, 805, and 819 Signature Series in 2004 with checkered walnut handles. Buck sold the 497 ErgoHunter with a checkered rosewood handle from 2009-2012 and the 195 and 694 Alpha Boone and Crockett edition in 2012 and 2013 with checkered walnut handles. The Gen 5 came with a rosewood checkered handle in 2011. I also found a 105 with a checkered handle that was made for Shephard Hills Cutlery in 2012. Buck produced a 113 for Buckmasters that I cannot find I cannot find dates on. It seems that the blades were produced years before the knives were released. Am I missing any fixed blade models that came with checkered handles?

I have not been able to find any information on how Buck produced their checkered handles. Does anyone know if the handles were hand carved or how the checkering was produced? I wish Buck would release some new models with checkered handles since they give me a nostalgic feeling like the old rifle stocks. I think the most recent model was the Remington R40000 that Buck produced for Remington around 2019. This model was made in China, but shows that Buck can produced checkered handles inexpensively. Anyone else like checkered handles? Feel free to post photos of any fixed blade models you have with checkered handles to give me an idea of what is out there.

So technically, the 597 folding Ergo Hunter has checkering - but it’s not wood so I would disqualify it. How do y’all vote?
That brings up the question I really would like answered. Are the wood handles made the same as the plastic or polymer handles? Is Buck able to mold the wood like you can a plastic or do they use some type of machine. I cannot see them hand checkering all of the handles.

Well, I just learned something. I knew Altamont made handgun grips, but I didn't know that they made the Macassar Ebony Dymondwood handles for Buck from 1994-2018. Thanks for the link.
You asked how it was done and the answer is laser etched. I am not implying that Altamont made all Buck's lasered handles.;)
