Hey all,
I’ve been shopping around various smaller fixed blades, looking for something that is easy to grip and unsheath quickly.
Really intrigued by some knives that have some kind of hook on the pommel to assist in catching the hand during a draw. IMO it has a lot of the benefits of a ring at the end of the handle, while being a bit quicker to grab.
Bladetricks makes some great knives with this feature (called the “blink grip”):
Being semi-customs they are pricy.
In the search for something cheaper I tried out the Outdoor Edge Le Duck:
Great knife in the right price range, BUT only allows for a three-finger grip between the hook and the blade. I want something that lets me grab the handle, without paying attention to finger placement, and pull on the hook to draw the knife. Best solution might be to dull some blade and extend the grip on the Le Duck
tl;dr: anybody have suggestions for a fast-draw fixed blade with a hooked handle?
