Can someone give me a lesson on Ricks fixed blades? Like how rare they are and will they ever be available more often? This one in paticular looks ideal for me and my style. I just love the design of this!!
 
Your not alone here. I've been trying to find hinderer FXM. The one you have pictured is flashpoint I believe. They are rare. If I'm not mistaken they sell those at shows and sometimes they have flash sales. Good luck!
 
Rick Hinderer Knives has certainly sold far less of their current fixed blades (Flashpoint, TDI, FXM and Fieldtac) than they have XMs. But, no one knows how many of each design there are.

First off, they were all custom ground for most of the time (recent Flashpoint production has been CNC) so that alone kept the numbers down. And, they have typically only been sold in small numbers at knife shows, GTGs, knife classes, special opportunities, etc. Flashpoints were sold through dealers, there are quite a few more of the Flashpoints than the other three styles. In my opinion, they are nice and quite different from each other but I particularly like the FXM and the TDI.

All that being said, Rick Hinderer has noted that he plans to make more fixed blades in 2015, probably once their new facility is on-line.

I was just wondering where you heard this. If this is true I might as wait than pay extreme secondary prices.
