Fixed blades

Are the CR fixed blades solid under the scales(full tang) or do they remove material to make the knife lighter or balanced?

I've always had the impression that they were solid under the scales. I don't know why I think this, since I've never owned one, but I got that info from somewhere .

They are cut out a bit to help balance the knife a bit.
