Specifically, is there love out there for Lon Humphrey's knives? I have been looking for a fixed (4-4.5"), carbon steel, stout but slicy, and after looking at dozens and dozens, I'm a little taken by his designs and philosophy. I've had a BK17 and found the grind not to my liking; I have a larger fixed (TGLB) and a smaller fixed (BK14), and I'm looking for one in between... so I have a Bushcraft Pro in my cart, it has a full flat grind (which I like), .188 spine, 4.25 inch blade, and plenty of real estate on the handle.

I placed this inquiry in General so that I may hear about comparisons with other similar blades (production, custom, etc...)--so thanks in advance. Just as a note regarding my tastes, it can be clip, drop point, or spear (I'll consider all), and it has to be un-coated carbon steel. Bark River was also on my radar (either Bravo 1 or 1.5); also the RMD... but I loath stripping the blade. If it wasn't for that, I would have ordered it already.

Thanks all

Lon's knives are very collectable and are users. I especially like the Brut de forge blades. His run about 1/4 inch thick but he has such a high grind that they are thin at the edge. Check out the exchange here in the forums for his that come up sometimes for between 150.00 - 200.00 dollars. Also DLT trading has his knoves for sale.

Me too Rolf, me too. I was looking at the "double-cut" option offered on some of their knives--not too sure I like that finish.

I had a Busse, DC. I liked it.
My favorite is a satin AMS. PERFECT.
