Fixing a gap on a Schrade

I have a Schrade that has a gap near the pivot pin of the main blade. Now I am worried that if so dirt or whatever got in it, it could grind down the tang of the blade. I don't think that will happen because I take care of my knives, but it is a concern. Now how do I fix it. I found out that Schrade didn't use a standard pivot pin, like a case knife. Theirs is unique. I can't hammer the liner to the spring. What should I do? I don't have a vice either.

If it's an Old Timer or Uncle Henry slippie, it's likely made with the Swinden key, so you'd basically have to dismantle the whole thing. The pin is machined with a head on it, which is inserted into a slot in the liner (beneath the bolsters) and the whole liner assembly is twisted on to tighten. The spring pivot pin holds the whole assembly together. What model do you have?
