My gf put my grandfathers's antique puma stag handle stake knife in the dishwasher.
How do I fix?

Maybe you can describe what happened to it. Rust? Handle fell off?

It will probably take a while to dry out completely. Then I’d try mineral oil. It will never be the same but it is part of its history now.

Wax is another option.

A lot of dishwasher soaps/ washers leave a "rinsing agent" on the surface so that spots don't form on glasses. You don't want that residue on your stag handle. I would give it a quick rinse in clean water, wipe it dry, then as eveled said, set it aside and let it dry.
