Fixing Benchmade Gamer Sheath?

Hey guys! I have a Benchmade Gamer, and I really like the design and think it's pretty damn useful. However, I don't really care for the sheath, I have trouble attaching it to anything, and I've had the knife drop out a couple of times. I'm in college and don't have much money, so having a new sheath made is a last resort. Is there anything that I can do to help with the retention and attachment? Thanks a lot!

Grab a tek lok from a kydex sheath maker, for retention... I'm not sure of the sheath material, but if it's like kydex, grab a hair dryer, heat up the sheath and make an indentation on the back side of the sheath to make it pinch the blade better.

The tek lok on one of my knives felt loose to me, so I removed it and wove a belt loop onto it with 550 cord, easy process and pretty short time to complete, to anchor the para cord I burnt the ends and flattened them to flare it out, alternately you could rig it to dangle with less time and effort.

Alright, thanks! I'm not sure about the sheath material, the website just says "black". I don't think it's Kydex, it seems like some sort of cheaper plastic... But I'll try the hairdryer! And I'll look at gettin a teklok.

For some reason their (BKC) knives are superb yet the supplied sheaths stink, IMO. I also owned a PE 'Gamer' and loved the blade; got a replacement made up in Concealex, nicely and cheaply done with a Tek-Loc, and never looked back. Good luck!

Dyou recall where you got the sheath made? Or dyou think it'd be easier for me to try to find something in my area? Thanks again!

I'm in SF Bay area and went long distance to Canada for mine, a place called 'On-Scene Tactical', a very talented guy named Eric made mine and it didn't cost a lot. Some of the better makers own a selection of template knives so you don't have to send the knife up for fitting itself...mine did have to go up. Might want to look at makers here on Blade...!
