Fixing Bevel Angles

Hi. Im in need of some advice. Im making my first knife and am in a bit of a pickle. After filing down my bevels to the center line, I noticed that one side was not the same angle. It appears my jig shifted as it is crummy and made be me. So, now I have a bevel that has a shallower angle than the other side.

So my question is, Can it be fixed? If so, how would I go about doing it.
Or, is it fine to leave it the way it is.

Like I said, its my first knife, so I'm not Surprised that I messed up. I would just like to fix it if I can.

Also, this is my first time posting here as well, and I hope im posting in the right Forum. Please be gentle lol.

Welcome BRG. Fill out your profile so we can see your age, where you are from and a bit about your background and experience building stuff. This way we can tailor answers better based on your experience. Also it makes it easier for you to find people that live close to you for support, shop visits where to find stuff etc. As far as your bevels go, one thing is certain. You cannot put metal back on that you have removed. So the simplest answer is to match the side from which you have removed the most metal. It is possible to leave it as is but in my humble opinion you should not. ALWAYS do the very best you can. You don't learn anything by quitting when the going gets tough (not trying to be mean, just sayin'). I would suggest setting up your jig again. Make sure it is clamped/bolted down well so it won't shift on you. Set your adjustment to match the side where you have removed the most material then take down the other "high" side to match. Most new makers make pretty narrow bevels when they start out so I'm guessing there's probably plenty of meat on that blade to make corrections. Don't worry about it being your first knife. First knife, tenth knife, three hundredth knife mistakes will keep on a comin'. Stay tuned. Better advice will be coming shortly from makers better than myself.

Thanks. I updated my profile.

I plan on going to home depot to buy materials to set up a better jig.

So I should remove metal from the side with the shallow angle?

Yeah. Sorry it took me awhile still figuring out how this sitr works
