Fixing edge in Manix2

So I've been sharpening my Manix2 with the sharp maker myself for some time now and can get a nice edge at times but not as sharp as it was out if the box.

The back edge on one side can't even be considered an edge at all I mean it just looks sad. While the opposite side is ok not great. Been trying to fix this but can't.. also the point of the knife has been dulled some and is square not sharp and pointy as it should be.

Being so, I'm thinking of sending in the knife to Spyderco for a factory sharpening. I'll miss the knife when it's gone but knowing that it'll come back sharper then ever I can wait.

For the time being any pointers / recommendations regarding the usage of the sharpmaker would be highly appreciated.

Btw Cpm 230V steel.

Thanks!

I may very well be wrong but ive never heard of this.

The sharpmaker is a pretty fool proof system but make sure you are keep the knife as perfectly straight as you can. Try doing one side until you can feel a burr form along the opposite side. Then do the same to the side with the burr. Now take away that burr with the finer stone and so on...

S30v typo...

Received my manix2 today back from spyderco and am completely satisfied. Well worth the $5 s&h. The above mentioned problems I had with the knife in regards to the edge have been fixed. Both sides of the knife looks great and the point of the knife has been fixed as well. They were nice enough to even include the 2014 catalog.
