Hi guys;
I bought a rat1 and when i came to home i realized the lock engage after %50 which very bugs me.Searched some threads and some people sad take apart and put it back or bend the liner little bit.Tried it but it is still same but bad part is i lost one of the spacers:mad: so im not gonna be able to send it to warranty dont advice it.
Anyone have any suggestions? Should i bend the liner more or first heat the liner then bend it?
Also little note:when i push liner tad bit to probably %40 it still stays there and there is no play.means it locks solid at %35-%70.
If there is nothing to do im gonna give it to my friend god damn it really pissed me off:mad:
PS:i payed more than 30 $ dont say sth like its a cheap knife leave it like that:mad:

Whats so bad about 50 percent lock up...it locks up right...there you go... I think peening is smackin the liner lock to make it wider, then it would lock up earlier...but i dont see any reason to do that or understand why you are so worried.

No blade play but now its actually more close to the right than photos.Zero room for wear .
And this is not %50 mate, probably %80 now.

bending it won't help, all that does is give it more spring tension to try to force itself over even further.

The order and tension of the assembly screws can affect lockup, and sometimes when the knife tolerances allow for it, applying force to the lock side of the blade while tightening the pivot can reduce lock-up travel, but just for a little while.

peening the inside edge of the lock to 'mash' some of the steel out to the edge gives it a little extra length at that exact spot. TAke the knife apart and hit the inside edge with a cold chisel or center punch. This is a drastic move, deforming the steel right where the lock engages. Be sure you want to try it before you do, fixing it would require really careful sanding of the lock face, and you could easily take away too much metal and completely ruin the lock.
