Alright I'm pretty sure we're all aware that lanyard holes are flaired out so the scales stay nice and snug. I have a PM2 I pretty much screwed over twice because of loose scales against the frame because the lanyard tube isn't holding the scales down. Does anyone have a trick to get the tube to flair out again after you ripped the old scales off and practically deformed the end?

Ive seen people just sand off the flair or use the titanium lanyard tubes to. Remove the holr together. And those arnt flaired at all. So i dunno. I generally leave the tube on and just pivot the scales on it. Really annoying but if im just cleaning and re lubing its not so bad.

You got a pic or something? You shouldn't really need the ends flared out to hold the knife together, like Mo2 mentioned the titanium lanyard tubes aren't flared and they work just fine. I've got a pm2 with Flytanium scales and haven't had any issues like this. My other pm2 has a titanium lanyard tube with stock g10 scales and no fitment issues either. Maybe something else is going as well?

I'll take some pics tomorrow for you. Just came on to check my sale tonight, gotta hit the sack. But I have to put paper between the scale and the frame. Because of that I thought the tube needed to hold the scale down. I'm thinking of getting the Manix 2 scales but if I couldn't figure out the trick I wouldn't buy it.

Ok here are two pictures of the scale being lifted up because I shoved paper in there. Without the lanyard flaring to keep the scale on it is above the skeleton and rattles. What can also be seen in the first image is just how much space there is between the scale and the lanyard tube, both in clearance inside the scale and height above the scale. What do you think I should to do fix this once and for all (preferably without paper).
