Before I managed to get my paws on my FK, I was trying to guestimate the size vs. the smaller Busse & S!K blades I have.

Took a couple comparison pix with the FK while she was posing with her new BB kydex. :D

Busse ASH1, CPK Field Knife, Busse Leaner Meaner, Busse Anniversary Mean Street Mil Over Run:

The cutting edge of the FK is only slightly less than the ASH1 because of the big choil.

S!K GSO 5.1, CPK Field Knife, S!K GSO 4.1, S!K GSO 3.5:

All the GSO's are the original series, not the newer ones.

Weights:
Busse ASH 1 - 1 lb. 4 3/4 oz.
CPK Field Knife - 8 oz.
Busse Leaner Meaner - 6 1/8 oz.
Busse AMS MO - 5 1/8 oz.
S!K GSO 5.1 - 11 1/4 oz.
S!K GSO 4.1 - 7 3/8 oz.
S!K GSO 3.5 - 7/8 oz.

Just can't wait to see the SK!!!

Awesome pics !!! Thank you, I've been wondering the same thing. I've got three out of the four in the top pic, but hopefully that's changing soon :-)

The FK is a good size knife,,, I Like it !!!!

Good thread evltcat!

Here's a few more.....

FK & GSO 2.7

This picture might come in handy if someone is wanting to compare the FK with Swamprats and couple other Busses and Barkies. It's a bit far off, wasn't took as a comparison shot per se, but still, there's a lot of models in one place.

And a pretty good comparison shot with an RMD

Is that a skeletonized buck skinner bottom left?

If so, how do you like it compared to some of the others you use for the task?

It's been awhile since I picked that up. It's a Bark River, and I believe it is the 'pocket bravo.' The tang has kept me from using it much. The rest of the design is good, but as a skeletonized blade, that tang has some uncomfortable edges. I carry it in a piggyback rig with a bravo 2, and it works fine there since the big blade does the bulk of the work. The swamp wardens near the top with the rounded design are much superior IMO. I'd love to have one of those in a good stainless. To be fair, scales are offered for the barkie, and it looks like most folks take advantage of them. I doubt my issue would be an issue at all with scales.

evltcat, would you happen to have a picture of the field knife with a boss street or a CABS?

Here's a couple with a Fiddleback Hunter in 3/16" O1

Thanks for that. Fiddleback Hunter? I have not handled that one. I like it. How much smaller is it from the Duke?

The cutting edge is approximately 4 1/4" vs 5 1/2" on the Duke. It's very similar to the CPK Field knife in size. Here is a comp pic. I tried to align them at the start of the cutting edge.

Sorry Knocks, can't help there. These are the only small Busse/Kin I have...

I had no idea the FF Hunter was that similar in size. Thanks for that picture gus!!

Here is a pic with the production kephart

Today I learned: I need a ratmandu.

Yes, everyone needs at least one anyway! :)

No problem, just taking a shot, and the CABS has been in the back of my head for a long time. Going to have to remedy that someday, ha!

Cheers bud.

What's that marking on the bevel just above the edge on the CABS? Almost looks like it was pushed too deep into a polishing/buffing wheel. Is it a convex edge?

That was just a reflection in the pic. It does have a zero convex edge. Here's another pic. The middle one had a custom micarta handle added by the previous owner. I forgot the name of the person who did the work, but it's very comfortable. Feels like a Fiddleback.
