Flamed Ti

Does flamed titanium come off easily with scotch-brite like an anodized finish? The reason I ask is because I don't like the flamed look but would be willing to buy a flamed handle (way more common than plain Ti) if I knew I could just scotch-brite it down to the plain Ti finish and then stonewash.
