Well I went from hardly posting to becoming an annoying nit. But I really wanted to share this damascus I've been playing with... sort of a 'flaming edge' type with 15n20/1084 and wrought iron. I've got some work to do to make more of iron flame up.. but I'm gonna keep trying.

I will post the rest of the knife later when it's done...

That pattern is just gorgeous - please annoy me with some more pics at your earliest opportunity.

That's some of the coolest Damascus ive ever seen. Great job;) really reminds me of some flames

Hey Cody.. you were there for the birth of this at my hammer-in. I just added the wrought iron to the pile of 15n20/1084 that Karl and I were going to weld and never did.

Cool, Scott.
Won't be too long now and we'll be able to play together!
And Cody, too, for that matter.

Looking forward to it Karl!

Oh what the hell.. it's not done yet and I haven't pinned it yet... but the light was so nice on the back deck tonight...

You had me with the original pic of the blade.

But when you added the handle in the mix, it was for sure!

I love it.

Keep us updated with more pics!

Lovely, Scott!!

That blade has a really interesting pattern.

I'm looking forward to seeing it done. It's a great looking handle and at the moment I really like it without a pin. I wondered if you could finish it off with a blind pin but it'll be interesting to see the pin and what I like better. :)

Scott, that pattern is amazing!! Really does look like flames licking at the spine. Always love seeing wrought iron.

Looks great! Any thought to etching it in copper tainted FC?

I love the copper but cap. That flame pattern is pretty darn cool. Thanks for being so annoying!!

Thanks again folks... I'm pretty excited about this stuff!

Hellize... I learned this from a video tutorial presented by Dave Stephens in his video streaming Arctic Fire Hammer-In Invitational. http://arcticfire.mymiddleearth.com/ His version uses high carbon on the spine.. but I thought it would be fun to try the wrought. It's basically just a regular damascus billet with wrought iron stacked on top. From there it's a matter of keeping track of where the iron is.
