Hey folks,

Posted this over in the "Custome & Handmade" section, and thought I'd post it over here as well.

Here's a special piece I finished fairly recently. I enlisted the help of Paul Long and Jim Cooper to take things to that "next level"

I sent the knife down to Paul, and told him to make it a right handed sheath and to "have fun with it." I gave him free reign with things and he delievered an amazing sheath, with beaver insert and an overlay. I still don't know how Paul can be so good with leather! (makes me a bit jealous, lol)

I had Paul send it over to Jim Cooper after he was done. I'll let the results speak for themselves:

I ended up calling the pattern "flaming rose". Had a few folks tell me it looked like some flowers, others thought fire, so I put em together. Jim had the idea to put "Flaming Rose" in the picture tag line, so I decided to call this guy the "Flaming Rose Fighter."

Blade is about: 6"
Overall: 12.5"
W pattern damascus for the guard and spacer
Stabalized California Buckeye for the handle, with a small stainless pin in the middle.

I gotta say, it looks very basic to me. Not really enough going on. I might even go as far as to say kind of novice. Better luck next time.

....and that's how to tell a lie.

Unbelieveable. I love that whole setup. Sheath and everything looks spectacular. Perfect piece of wood to go with that blade too. Great execution brother!

That damascus is simply amazing! I love the entire piece, flow, and finish. And the Paul Long leather just puts the icing on the cake. You hit a home run right there, Graham.

Thanks everyone! Its much appreciated!

Glad you folks enjoy it. I definately enjoyed making it and the process of working with Paul Long and Coop for the sheath and pictures. Overall a very rewarding experience.
