Flash Bainite - a 'new' heat-treatment (?)

This sounds like it is mainly geared towards low/mid carbon steel, but I'm curious to hear what the thoughts are:

Everybody has now heard of this !! I was on the radio last night [ HAM] and somebody said 'your a metal man did you ever hear of Flash Bainite ? ' I had to explain why I was laughing so hard !!

I'm reminded of Howard Clark's bainite katanas, although those have a lower bainite body with a tempered martensite edge. I don't know if a bainite structure, even a hybrid sort of one as described in this new stuff, will ever Rockwell high enough to attain the wear resistance we want in a knife? I'm interested, though.

I do still have a piece of that GNiCr40Al4 to try. That sounded pretty cool, too.

Exactly; there was no mention of Rc in the literature.
