Hey All.
Any views/reviews on the Flash II assisted opening model? Shopping for a new EDC.
Thanks, Hop

I've carried one for two years and I highly recommend it. The S.A.T. opening mechanism works perfectly, the pocket clip is ambidextrous and it comes out of the pocket already in perfect position for quick opening. The clip also allows the knife to be about even with the top edge of the pocket. For the money, I haven't found one better. There's also a good variety of edges, materials and colors.

i have 2 of them ; a graphite handled clip point and a serrated zytel handled clip point . i love them both.

Guess I really have to pay attention to endorsements like those. Thanks guys, I'd really like to hear more. There's always a "good, but", an "except for the...".
Robbie, are those the prices you are paying? I am looking at the same product for appx. twenty bucks less across the board.
Thanks guys for the replies, and please keep them coming. Thanks, Hop

I use to have a Flash I and it was a solid knife. It was just too small. I haven't handled the Flash II, but I expect it to be just as solid. Sorry that I can't contribute much.

Hey Death, glad you're here. (Do I call you Head? Nah, Death's more gooder). You mentioned two new versions of Spyco's Endura/Delica. Any idea where & when to look? Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks Man, Hop

Hop, people call me DH so that they don't type as much. Yup, I'm waiting myself for those waved Spydercos. Last I heard, sometime next month. I'm sure there will be many posts just as soon as they are released. I'm going to buy mine so as they are released at a knife shop near me here. I can get a good price from them and they always get about 5 pieces of each new model that comes out. I can try to dig up more info at the Spyderco Forum. These knives, imho, are perfect knives. Anything more is luxery. It really has all the essential at a great price.
Sorry guys for borrowing this thread.

Badly Done Guys,
I apologize for cross-pollenating the threads. Won't happen again. I'm still in need of SOG info tho.
Thanks, Be Well,
Hop

Been carrying a Flash II for a few months, the reversible low-ride clip makes it very friendly for office environments and lefties.

It's a bit bulky (at least in the Zytel version, not sure about the aluminum-handled version), but makes up for it by being fairly solid and it zaps open with authority.

Have used it on all sorts of unpacking-related tasks (strapping, tape, cardboard, twine, etc) and it still has a shaving edge.

Is the aluminum version thinner than the Zytel version? My Zytel can only be worn with baggy jeans, it makes a rather large lump in my pocket ("Is that a Flash II in your pocket, or are you mildly happy to see me?").

It was losing my first Flash II that gave me the itch for knives. Two more Flash II's and 60 other knives later, I hope I'm still just getting started. Wish other makers would take note of the low profile of the Flash II clip. I don't like to advertise (any more than necessary) how many knives I have on me.

[You should see me try to conceal my Spec Elite II in my hip pocket next to my wallet with that monster 5" blade].
