Flashlight bargain!

I should have posted this ages ago; I just forgot. :o

Check out Sam's Club to see if there are any blister packs left of the double set of Cyclops flashlights. Black anodized aluminum case, takes two CR123A lithium batteries. Two flashlights for $19.99. The quality is amazing (and I own most of what Surefire makes).

Thanks Holger. I saw these but didn't know if they were any good. I recently bought a vague/no name LED from either Wally world or Target and it was CRAP... even a MagLite was better! I will go check them out again. May make some good stocking stuffers.

Let me know what you think of them. I'm pretty fussy about fit and finish (;) ) and I thought for about ten bucks each, these were superb.

Well, I went out and bought the two-fer pack for ~$20. Not bad for a $10 flashlight I guess. However, my only Surefire, the G2 (?) Nitrolon is brighter in my unscientific backyard test tonight. But, it's pretty good for a $10 light. It will go into my truck, and the other into my wife's.

"I guess"????? ;)

.Geez, I thought for the price these were superb! I wasn't really comparing light output (it's pretty good) - just fit and finish. I have almost every Surefire from the tiny Elite E1e to the monster M6 and I thought these Cyclops were finished VERY nicely. :)

Oh OK.... I retract my "I guess"!;) They are a damn fine flashlight for $10.

LOL! That's better! :D (SHOT show? Beer? Coffee? Guided tour of Pahrump? -- my treat!) ;)

Well Holger, I hope we meet yet again... we did meet briefly at the Chicago Custom show. But I would dearly love a guided tour or Pahrump as long as we went out and shot some full auto with Vampire Gerbie!

Yes, of course I remember our meeting in Chicago - just outside the show room, in the hall near the entrance. You were with another guy, a strange lookin' dude from what I remember. ;) ;) ;)

I'll be at SHOT and at the Vegas show (barring changes in my schedule) and I'll look into that tour of Pahrump for us! I have friends there who do an 'interesting' cable television show (no, not what you think). I completely forgot that Pahrump is also the native habitat of the reclusive Vampire Gerbil! Perhaps we should arrange bail money for us now? :D

I bought a pack of these today and they are a good buy. Are bulbs readily available for these lights?

Thanks
Tom

Not commenting on the Cyclops lights in particular (since I've never even seen one in person) but rather a more off-topic thought...

While I appreciate fit & finish I would much rather have a fugly light with great output than a lovely looking light with mediocre output.

So would I. That's why I have the M6. For the price, the Cyclops rates very well on both counts. You should try and actually handle one.

I'm also curious as to if there are any replacement bulb assemblys/assemblies. sp?

Thanks,

Watty

According to a thread on CPF, the lamp assembly from the UK 4AA fits the Cyclops perfectly. $6.95 ea. from BrightGuy.

Yep, I have tried this and it works great. You can also put the UKE eLed 1 watt module into them. The output is not as impressive, but the runtime is much longer.

I bought 4 packs of these lights at the beginning of December sold/gave most all of them away. Everybody has been very pleased with the fit/finish/brightness/runtime so far. Great glovebox or nightstand lights.

I'm gonna stop and get a couple of these to put in the vehicles and retire the G2's.

There has been a guy at a local fun show sellingthese for $20 each.

They are on EPrey for over $70, or at least were a few weeks ago when I first heard of them.
