Does anyone have any experience with the LED conversion "lamps" made by Cree that upgrade the old surefires to LED? They look almost too cheap to be true. I have a couple of old 6Ps that aren't nearly as bright or have as long of battery life as a buddy's new Surefire 6P LED. I did a search and found these replacement lamps. Thanks in advance.

I have one I got on Ebay it works very well. It's brighter , will run longer on a set of batteries & is less likely to brake if dropped. Candlepowerforums has a good thread on the drop ins. Check it out.

I have a "cheapie" K2 dropin in my G2 that works well. I sure wish I had waited and gotten a Cree, considering how cheap they are now. I would say go for one and just keep your old Surefire lamp handy for a spare.

I bought a Cree drop-in from lighthound.com for my Surefire C2 and it is awesome. A definite improvement over the standard bulb.

Am I looking at the right one, order # LHCREESF???

Yes, that is exactly the one i purchased. FYI, this buld has two springs ( a smalle inner spring and a larger outer spring. My Surefire C2 required that I remove the larger spring for a perfect fit. This does not affect the functionality of the bulb at all, just allows it to fit in the body of the light properly. It is easily removed by hand. As you see, Lighthound mentions this modification on their site. I think you will be really pleased with this CREE drop-in. I know I am.

Sorry, no knowledge of the Surefire conversion, but I would like to become a flashlight expert. Can anyone send me a link to a correspondence course or some training? :)

Thanks knifeboy and others. That candlepowerforum makes my head spin. I was thankful to get a recommendation on one with a warranty. Thanks again
