Who makes the meanest flashlight? Not the biggest, brightest, or heaviest, but the MEANEST!

Anyone marry an extentable batton and a flashlight?

If there isnt one, i guess i will have to make one

ASP makes an adapter that lets you attach their lithium flashlight to one of their batons. It's a good combination, but illegal to carry and sometimes even to possess in many places. For a plain old flashlight that also makes a good club, I like the 6C-cell Maglite. I keep one in my car. It's substantially thinner, lighter, and more manageable than a D-cell light, and still produces a decent beam (for a cheap alkaline light).

Hmm... I've been pondering the thought of a mini-Maglite with a cone-shaped end on the back... Turn it into a mini-spear! Might be interesting. Not sure if it classifies as meanest though... But then I really can't think of ANY flashlight like that. For now I'll stick with my SureFire 6Z.

Oh yeah... I'm sure I saw it somewhere, but I can't remember now - a bright flashlight with built-in pepper spray! Don't see it very often though. IIRC, it was pretty small - like a mini AA flashlight and a keychain OC in one ugly little package.

Well, It's not expandible...but I would vote for the Streamlite LED baton light  ).

The positives:

3 ultra-bright white LEDs.
Momentary "blink" and locked "on" switch.
42,000 millicandelas / 12 hour burn time
machined aluminum housing
knurled grip and swiveling keyring collar
unbreakable Lexan® lens
O-ring moisture seal
Length 5.5 "

Negatives:

(not really a negative...but:) it takes (3) "N" Size alkaline batteries.

Yep...but the Streamlite baton is 100% legal.:)

wow surprised that this thread was resurected thanks guys, this post was party due to my post 9/11 pissedoffness, so please excuse my wording.

Thanks for the response, i actually stumdbled across the streamlight website a few days ago, neat stuff, thanks.

Does the SureFire flashlight that is attached to my AR-15 rifle count?.:D..:D.

the AR does not count

"Put your hands above your head"

"its just my flashlight, the gun came with it, i cant figure out how to get this thng off, honest"

There is that brass extender for the end of the AA Maglight- basically like putting a solid 6 oz. piece of brass on the end by screwing off the end that's on it- it doesn't match perfectly, but does have an O ring and doesn't get noticed very often. I contacted the company once- they said they might machine some more if enough people were interested. Later I did find one, and only one, in black- I put it on my dad's AA and he's just tickled pink. BTW, it doesn't affect the light- it still works, and it makes one hell of a sap.

I like the 6c maglite.I find the C cell lights easier for me to grip and fast to swing, yet still has enough "power".;)

Greetings;
First time using the forums, so please forgive any faux pas'. This particular subject has been haunting me for approx. 10 years. Back about 1992 or '93 "Cold Steel" offered just such a flashlight in one of their catalogs. It was called the "Brute" and basically was similar to a long maglite. The differences were, the thickness of the body wall was over twice that of a maglite, and it used 7 "AA" batteries with a "krypton star" bulb. The smaller diameter allowed for a very positive grip while so many batteries gave the light enough length for a good reach at a weight about the same as a 4"D" maglite. Photos in the catalog show it demolishing a large watermelon and touting its reliability. When I got a chance to order one, I was told the item was discontinued. I emailed Doug at "equippedtosurvive.com" some 2 years ago when I discovered his incredible website, but he had never heard of it. I offer this info in the hope that someone may have more knowledge or enough people might squeeze "Cold Steel" into offering it again.

RAM Instruments makes a 3 LED flashlight that replaces the buttcap on an ASP baton. I've replaced the cap on both of mine and while not a 6P it sure provides enough light to see by at night and makes the 16 in ASP that much more usefull.

The legality of civilians carrying an ASP baton is different from state to state. In some states you may not carry unless you meet certain requirements. In others you may not carry at all and in others still there are no restrictions. In my state you must have taken and passed a certification course and have the certificate to legally carry any baton.
