Flashlight help/recommendations

Hey guys.
I bought a Fenix LD10 about two years ago and it finally croaked on me.

I put a fresh battery in and nothing happens when I click the button. Sometimes a god tap against my palm will make it work but only for a few seconds before the light fades out again. I tightened the end screw cap and that seemed to help. But only for a short time.
Is there anything that you guys may know of to fix this issue?

Otherwise I am ready to upgrade to something else. I love flashlights that run off of AA's only because they are everywhere and my parents buy them bulk.
If you can convince me to try otherwise then go ahead and shoot:)
I also really like the size of the LD10, but I'm not so sure I want to return to Fenix since I've heard they have really bad warranty service.
The most I'd like to spend is $100, so hopefully I can find something that will last me a little longer.

So, do you guys have any good recommendations for a quality EDC flashlight?
And does anyone have the newer Fenix LD12 and would like to give their input and if they're satisfied?

Thanks in advance guys!

Take a pencil eraser and clean the contact point that touches the + battery terminal.

Thank you. I will or it a try when I get home. I will update with results.

Thanks for the rec. if all else fails with repairing my Fenix I will give this one some consideration. Have a good one.

Well, I tried cleaning the + contact point with a clean eraser but to no avail. I also remember it stopped working after a good drop from about waist-height. Maybe something broke loose.

Do a search for the L3 Illumination L10 AA flashlight. It's small, easy to EDC, only costs about $25 and, best of all, can be had with the Nichia 219 high CRI LED. Max output is reduced to about 90 lumens with the Nichia, but the color temp, tint and color rendition are well worth it. Go for the four mode - it gives you a very useable firefly setting as a bonus.

Skip the pocket clip though, it's worthless. Instead use a split ring and a small clip to secure it.
