Hey folks, need a hand on picking an EDC light. I just recently had the Fenix EO1 with pocket clip for my first try and I like the light but it was likely either too small or the clip was inadequate as it seems to have jumped out of my pocket at some point.

I'm looking for an everyday light, does not need to be tactical. I prefer a clip for in pocket carry. Small enough that I can still get a hand in that pocket so I'm thinking single AA size, no larger. I'm looking at the Fenix L1D but that has a "holster" and I'm not sure how that would work. Would prefer $50 and under but willing over for a quality product.

Thanks in advance folks.

I really like my Surefire E1b. The clip works up or down without adjustment very light and still packs a lot of brightness. The E1b is a little expensive but well worth it. It doesnt have the overly aggressive texturing that some of the other surefires have, so it does not tear up clothes. I have been carrying mine daily for over a year.

The Fenix L1D-Q5 is a very fine flashlight -
there is a successor the Fenix LD10.

Another flashlight you could consider is the NiteCore D10

I think a single AA light may be a bit fat to ride at the top of the pocket - especially jeans, of course YMMV -
I just saw this and thought it was a clever idea -

The light would hang inside the pocket yet be accessible via the clip - virtually no danger of loss.

If you could see your way clear to carry it on your belt, then I'd recommend the Surefire G2. It comes in either a standard model, or an upgraded LED version. I have both, and EDC them every day. Either option puts out a ton of light, but I personally prefer the LED one. 20 more lumens and 12 hours of battery life make it a really nice upgrade over the original (which only has a one hour battery life BTW). It is a little more than what your looking to spend, and the batteries can be a bit pricey, but its well worth it IMHO.
