flashlight mount for a 870 Magnum Express

Hello all,

I am looking for a flashlight mount for my 870 Magnum Express. I am looking to let me wife use it during the non-hunting season as a home defense weapon while I am away. Does anyone have a clue where I am can find one? I dont have the 580 dollars for the sure-fire one, I already looked at them.

Garrett, what kind of light are you thinking of putting on it? One thing to consider is that the light needs to be able to handle the considerable recoil of a shotgun. Otherwise, one shot and it's lights out (literally).

One good option, considerably cheaper than the Surefire system, is the M-3 light by Insight Technologies. I have an M-3 tactical light, and it's mounted to a magazine extension on an Insight mount.

If you don't have a mag extension on the gun, Streamlight (who also sells these lights under their name) makes a mount for the M-Series that fits underneath the magazine cap.

I picked up the light for about $90, and I believe the mount was around $12 or $15.
