Ok i know this is talked about alot but, i'm looking for a light that i can use for home defense and be able to use it in the woods or just outside. I want it to be very bright so i can blind someone and still be able to take a beating when hunting/hiking. Anybody have an idea?

What is your spending budget? I would get a seperate light for home defense and a good rechargeable if you use the light a lot outside of the house.

You said VERY bright and didn't specify a budget..so why not a Surefire M6. Personally though, I have an E2e-HA.

If you can wait for probably 1 month surefire will be showing 3 or 4 new models in time for christmas in the 5,6 and 7 series and I would bet there will be some great deals in order to get them out there. Supposedly much longer throw or flood depending on the model.

Tigerlight FBOP or Tigerlight with built in OC. It's rechargeable and as bright(brighter?) than the SureFire M6. Costs a whole lot less, too. It's 100 for the FBOP and ~130 for the OC.

You won't regret it! Good luck!

For me . . .

Incredibly bright and inexpensive= Streamlight TL-3 XENON ($60)

Really bright and Pocketable= SureFire E2E ($70)

Really bright, pocketable, and inexpensive= SureFire G2 ($25)

A lot of people like the Tigerlight since it's such a great value. However, it is not as bright (nor as white) as the Surefire M6.

But sure is cheaper to buy and operate :p. [OT]Skyline, this is FNG from CPF. I sold the G2Z and got an E2e, and also got a Delica instead of the 705.

The TigerLight is a great flashlight (best £100 non SureFire I've ever spent) but it's not even close to the MN21 500Lu M6. Perhaps the MN20 250Lu lamp, but not as white.
The TigerLight has been said to be the poor man's M6. I don't believe this is the case. The TigerLight not a poor man's anything - it's an excellent light. The M6 has no equal regardless of cost. The M6 and TigerLight 8" share the approximate form factor but that's about it.

This means that you should be just as proud of your TigerLight 8" as your M6 - they play in different games and I am glad I have both (well two M6's and a TigerLight)
