Over 12" of flat ground blade. What a pain in the butt. Then again it sure is purty:D.

Ron, that really is a great looking knife. I would also like to know what wood you used for the handle and more about the rest of the knife as well.

That sheath is tremendous. That looks like it was a lot of work.

I'm also curious about the handle material?? Great looking knife.., and thanks for posting it...

Woodchip is right. It is stabilized spalted maple with red liners. It has two 1/4" mosaic pins and stainless thong hole liner. The blade is ATS-34 HT by Bos (who else!). Little touch of filework up on the spine. Tapered tang. Not much else about it, its just LARGE (for me at least).

The sheath was a pain. I have been doing so much Kydex work for my M.A.U.s I had almost forgotten how much time carved sheaths take. Not to mention all that hand sewing (two rows of course). OH, its carved front and back.

Its currently winging its way to the Pacific Rim.

Thanks R.W..., boy that Maple is pretty.., and I'm sure the sheath was a workout :).., after that one it may be a while before you forget how much work it is ;)

The owner of this knife is my neighbor and I got a chance to play with this 12" knife tonight.
The finish is great and the sheath is just amazing.
Although it has 12" blade but not really slow as I think when I hold it.

It's a beautiful piece.
