Flat Grind or Hollow Grind

Depends. I usually prefer a flat grind (the vast majority of people do, I think), but hollow grinds have their niche. A deep hollow grind is a good choice in a large, thick-bladed fighter that is supposed to be balanced at or around the index finger's position. A hollow grind can take away enough material to make that seeming contradiction possible.
It's also useful if you cut a lot of stuff that doesn't require a lot of penetration, such as rope, tape, or cardboard. This is usually relevant in smaller knives.

My preference is a high hollow grind, done on a large diameter wheel, especially if it goes all the way to the back of the blade. After that, is a full flat grind.

I tend to go for flat grinds, but hollow grinds have their place. I just tend to buy more flat ground knives.
