During the lull waiting till tomorrow to order parts I went ahead and did a couple of other things.

One: I started to just make a fixed blade out of some 1095 steel but knew I'd never use it much. So, I changed courses in mid stream and converted it to fit a folder I already had in 440C and just swapped blade. I couldn't make up my mind if I wanted to build a lockback or a frame lock so I toyed with both. Finally decided I didn't have the energy or drive to tackle a lockback right now. :D Took this one down to .007 right above the 18` edge bevel. Nice and thin for some serious straight edge and lots of whittling.:D

Second I took a Thinus Herbst 12C27 blade I bought a while back and just for fun took it down to razor blade thin (well close) at .005 right above the bevel. Its a light saber now and looks good since bead blasting it! Next I'm going to rebuild the body of the folder on it but I need the same parts to finish it as what I'm already waiting on for the Two Ouparator thread.

WOW! The first knife is a beauty. I love the half g-10 look. Amazing.

Nice job. Wish my tinkering was as fruitful.

Actually that is green canvas Micarta bead blasted and the bolsters are titanium in a .100 thickness bead blasted also.

Thanks

I knew that....:D

See, my lack of knowledge shows.

Either way, it's really sweet.

I like that ouparator in wharncliff! Somehow it is different from your first. Blade grind is closer to handle. I like that.
