I got mail from one of my favorite makers. The knife of the month from Buck is a 301 with micarta scales and flat ground blades. The buying urge got really bad. Had it been the 303, I would have bought it immediately.
Regards Erik
A bit outta my comfort-zone price-wise. But I find it AMAZING that Buck's putting out a flat-ground slipjoint. I really hope they transition the 301 and 303 to flat-ground, as well.
Unlikely.
The 2018 Forum Knife was the 301 with ffg CPM154 blades, Spey delete, long pull on the Shepsfoot anf Clip Point, and Elk Covers.
Only difference I see between them is the BOTM has the standard 420HC blade steel, and Micarata covers. Oh, and the BOTM is at least $20 more expensive than the forum knife was.
At any rate, the FFG didn't become "standard" on the 301/303, nor did they return to a classic long pull on at least the main blade.
