I was wondering if anyone here would know some info on the Flat ground,Autograhphed and dated large Sebenza? How many were produced and are they still being made? Is it a collector piece or a user?--Thanks:)

It is both collector and user! Approximately 160 were made, all of these signed and dated by Chris on the BG-42 blade. Production was stopped due to problems in getting the consistency and maintaining quality that Chris requires. The flats were machine ground rather than hand ground as on all hollow grind CRK blades. Until Chis can find the time to resolve the production issues related to the flat ground blades, no more will be produced. CRK still lists the flat ground Sebenza on their website price list, but I think very few, if any, are still available.

Here's a link to another BFC thread on the flat ground sebbies, w/photos:

I thought there had been about 160 made, this post states 130. I've got one arriving soon- I'm not certain whether I'll use it or put it on display, but since CRK can refurbish the knife and bring it back to a nib appearance, I'll probably end up using it at least a little.

The 160 production number and info on the reasons that production was stopped were from a post from Anne on another flat ground thread. Still, relatively modest production numbers for a Sebenza that sold for zero premium over the standard model. Having Chris sign the blades on these is a nice touch.
These flat grinds are awesome and worth obtaining on their own merits, limited production notwithstanding. I hope Chris finds the time to eventually work out the production bugs. A flat ground, S30V small Sebenza with polished blade would assume the position as my new EDC.

This is the first of many Reeve knives I recently purchased. It is the BEST folder I have ever purchased. I don't have any other Seb to compare the grind to. But thus far it is the new EDC, and it is getting a little bro soon.

I just bought the last one that Tallpaul had in stock. Very generous of him to sell it to me. Thanks again Paul!! The MO is in the mail!!!:D
It'll compete with the Lg. plain Box Elder wood inlay that I carry as an EDC. Can't wait to get it.

Thanks for the info everyone. I was trying to make up my mind whether to start carrying my new flat grind or trade it off on one of the leather handles or wood sebs. and I didn't want to mess up the finish on it untill I found out if it was something that should be put up.I would still like to find a leather or wood to carry as my EDC. If anyone out there is interested, Please let me know. I would pay the difference--Thanks
