Flat or Hollow Grind for Delica 4?

hey i'm planning on buying a spyderco delica 4 and i can't decide whether to buy the flat grind or hollow grind. I personally think that the flat grind looks a bit slicker and cooler, but i heard that the hollow grind is more durable and is better for heavy use. I would use this knife, obviously, as an EDC and for regular use, but not too hard. Which one would be better for me?

It actually isn't a hollow grind it is a saber grind. I much prefer my full flat ground Endura. For the lighter duty EDC you probably don't need the stronger tip that comes with the saber ground Endura.

Edit: I would also like to add that for EDC I wish I would have gone with a Delica and am jealous of the Delica I got my girlfriend. Unless you need that length that is.

Flat! It will slice through things more easily and sharpen more quickly.

Third vote for the flat! The delica cuts like a laser and especially in ZDP-189. And welcome to Bladeforums! You'll love it here! :D

Flat, I have a waved Endura and wish it was flat ground. I'm not that crazy about sabre grinds.

Another vote for the FFG. Maybe a poll would help?

mmarkh, I know what you mean; I actually had the chance to buy one but didn't because I knew there were FFG models out there, even without the Wave...

I have both and like them both. That said I like the FFG better.

I don't have a Delica anymore. But, I do have both the saber and flat ground Endura's. I much prefer flat ground. Seems to slice better for me. But, both are real good knives.

I have both the FFG and saber-ground. I like the FFG more, as it feels like it slices just a little better.

Full flat grind for most general applications, the sabre grind does have a thicker tip so I guess it would be a little more heavy duty. Most of your cutting needs will be slicing. So if I were doing it again I would go full flat grind.

Flat.

If I'm planning on heavy use, I'll use a fixed blade, and I always have one within easy reach.

Hey thanks for all your responses guys and i think i'm gonna go with the flat grind after looking at your opinions and watching some cut tests. Thanks!
