Flat vs Hollow grind on recurve dagger

Hi everyone

Looking to get a couple of Persian daggers made. I'm getting different messages regarding the best grind to use. Some say that the recurve shaped blade will require hollow grinds. Any advise welcome.

When the late, great John White, MS made my Persian in 2011 he used a flat grind and like all of John's work it came out great.

I’ve done recurves with flat grinds. It doesn’t have to be hollow.

Wow, love the dagger!! That's good to hear flat grind is an option, was a little concerned about thin weak edges on the hollow grind.

Can I ask....what is the thickness at the ricasso? Thanks

This ricasso is just over 1/4" thick.
