Flattening Arkansas stone

I have a 10" soft Arkansas stone that has a slight low spot, almost invisible, near one end. I can still feel it though, and I'm worried I might damage a blade edge running into it. I was wondering if something like a fine diamond credit card hone could be used to smooth it back out.

You might do better just by doing some wet grinding with some sand on concrete. The Fine diamond credit card hone may not be aggressive enough to smooth that out, and might also glaze the surface of the stone, reducing it's working effectiveness. Using some sand or other loose grit on concrete would likely work quicker on an Arkansas stone, and the loose abrasive would help to minimize the glazing as well.

Others here are expert at such tasks on Arkansas and other natural stones, like waterstones; might wait a bit to hear more feedback.

(I'm now seeing this is a double-posted thread, and it looks like you're getting some good advice in the other one.)
