I have a Chinook with the 440V blade. Great steel, super grind lines. Couldn't be happier...except one thing. I noticed a tiny little "dimple" or "crater" in the side of the blade. No more than .02 in diameter. From the appearance, its obvious that it was a bubble that formed when the steel was being formed. Its not mechanical damage. Not terribly deep, but, nonetheless quite noticable. Doesn't seem it would affect the overall integrity of the blade at all. But...I got to thinking...If this one showed up on the blade surface..are there others hiding in the steel below the surface? Just curious if others have noticed the same thing. Was there a bad batch of steel that came through or am I being overly concerned about nothing. To the Spyderco guys: Should I send this in and let you take a look at it? It doesn't REALLY bother me, just that nagging concern that it might be a problem with the whole piece of steel. Happy to send anyone a picture. Don't know how to attach it (or I'm not allowed to)
