Flay Poll

The flay poll on the Gransfors Hunter's Axe is rounded and polished. Once you've started to peel the hide off your game, you push/pound (as necessary) the hide back from the carcass with the polished poll. As noted by budman, it helps to have someone else pullling on the hide. There is some discussion of this axe in a recent thread entitled something like "I bet you haven't seen an axe this cute" or along those lines. The thread starts off talking asbout the GB mini belt hatchet, then several of us got on the topic of the Hunter's Axe. I'll try to bring it back to the top for you to read.
